So we all know this business of network marketing can be so challenging at times. We know we need to do more MLM recruiting in order to be successful but sometimes we don’t really realize what it takes to accomplish this. Yes we need to learn primarily how to market and do that successfully so we have enough people to talk to, to recruit more people into our MLM business – but what does it take from there. Well that is a good question and what I will attempt to give you here is an answer to MLM recruiting.
You have to hold a strong belief and know that network marketing is a people business so understanding and knowing people better should be a topic of study if you want to be successful in this business. Realize that we are all different with all different personality types. That in turn leads to how one makes decisions and choices for their lives. So do you think it would be helpful to know the personality type of the prospect you are talking to and what they need to make a decision. What if you applied this and allowed them to talk themselves into working with you instead of you trying to sell them?
Hopefully that makes sense to you and you are ready to learn what you need to know.
There are basically 4 personality types and knowing each type of personality will enable you to relate to them in a way that will enable you to recruit more in your MLM business
First there is the yellow personality. They are the givers, they don’t want to be sold and they don’t want to experience your excitement about how great your opportunity is. Don’t tell them about how much money they can make but instead explain to them how many people they can help by doing this business. To relate to the yellow personality type you need to talk about their family, their business, their lives. Relate the business to how this will allow them to experience more of their life and how they will have more time to spend with their families or do the things they like to do. Also show them how they can help others grow to success and live their dreams. Yellow’s are the types that want to teach and help others succeed.
Then there is the personality types who just wants to have fun. This would be your Blue personality types. It contribute to fifteen present of the population. They are typically in some type of sales business already and if they have experience in the network marketing industry they are the ones that jump from program to program always looking to connect with people to have more fun. They get the big picture of things right away and don’t need all the facts to make a decision. When you talk to a blue type tell them about how fun the businesses is and how much fun they will have in joining the business. Let them know much fun it is to work with your team and how much fun they will have as they build success in this business. This will allow them to sell themselves on the business,
The next personality type accounts for 35% of the population. This would be your green personality. These are your analytical people. They will analyze your network market opportunity to death. They some times miss out on opportunities because they take so long to make a decision. They love going through the comp plans and analyzing them in every way possible. They just want data and after that they want more information. It can be frustration if you are working with the green personality but you need to be patient with them. Greens believe they are the smartest people on the planet so they love information. If you want to sponsor 35% of the population give them the information. Let them talk themselves into the business and be patient with them. If you want to sponsor a green send them to your website, send them to all the webinars and conference calls. But don’t try to sell them or be pushy. Don’t call them too often for they will see you as being pushy. Make sure you are speaking properly and not to fast. Be steady in your voice and answer all their questions. It’s good to get them on a three-way with someone who may understand more about the company than you so they can go thought things in more details, Give them all the information they need and give them a couple of weeks to analyze it and let them call you back when they have sold themselves on the opportunity. Now I’m not saying to not follow up with them I’m just saying to give them time to do their analysis. You can say something like well I given you a lot of information what if I gave you sometime to review it and if you have any question in the meantime you can always call me. What if I check back with you in about a week or so, would that give you enough time to review the information. You can go longer to but leave that up to them so they will know that you are giving them the time they need to make a decision.
The next and last personality type are your Reds. They are only interested in money, That’s it! They are the smallest percentage of the population and only account for 15% of the population. When talking with the red type don’t chit chat about the family, or the fun things in life – talk about money and how much money they can make. Period.
Reds want to sell, sell, sell and they want to recruit the same type, the big producers
Many CEO’s of large corporations are of the Red personality type. They are, get the job done people. They are a type that many think will do well in network marketing so they do try to recruit them thinking they will be big. The only problem with Red personality types it that they are not coachable. So don’t even try. They are real good at corporate jobs but not always good at network marketing. Because they are very demanding they can sometimes drive a lot of people away and typically experience a lot of attrition in their businesses. The good thing about Reds is that they are typically very well connected, so they will know very influential people who can also come into your business. When you get a red in your business forget about coaching them. They will figure it out for themselves. Since network marketing is a teaching and coaching business this will be a challenge but let them be themselves and learn from there.
As you meet and communicate with people everyday learn to recognize the personality types and give them what they need. Understanding what they need to make a decision and give that to them. To do this you must really listen to people. Let them speak and let them tell you what they need. All you need to do is to ask the right questions.
Also keep in mind that we are all a blend of colors depending on the situation. Yes we have a primary color but we typically have a dominate color which accounts for how we look at things.
You need to be a camelain when it comes to dealing with the different types of personality
and develop rapport by relating to them in the way that they communicate and the way they see the world. You will begin to get to know people better than they know themselves. It will enable you it give them what they need to sell themselves on your MLM opportunity.
The problem with this part of the business is that people don’t spend enough time to learn the people skills to be successful at MLM recruiting. They fail and they think its the fault of the business model of network marketing. Take the time to learn this skill and really get to know people, it will enable you to do more MLM recruiting and help you to have the ability to teach and inspire more people to be successful.

I remember doing this back in the corporate world and I came out a mixture of all types apart from Red – This is very important to identify when talking to extreme character types
